ACA New England Individual Members Enjoy:
- Communicate
Published five times a year, the Communicate
contains information about educational opportunities,
standards updates, legislative news relevant
to New England, positions wanted/available,
book revierws, advertising opportunities and
other items of interest. Communicate is available
by standard mail or is downloadable as a PDF
from the Member
section of the ACA New England Web site. Members
are encourage to submit material for publication.
- Legislative Support
Each New England state has a representative
on the Board of Directors. These representatives
keep the Board and ACA New England up-to-date
about what legislative issues are important
in their state and, in turn, allows ACA New England to support their legislative efforts.
- Discounted rate on any ACA New England Conference
and educational event - nonmembers
pay significantly higher fees.
- Access to ACA New England
research results including salary and enrollment
surveys.
- Access to the new Member
section of the ACA New England Web site which
is currenty in development. This section will
contain resources for staff training and facilities
management, program ideas, a Document Exchange
and past issues of the Communicate.
ACA New England Accredited Camps benefit from:
- Camp Information
Service. ACA New England resident
camps may take part in this service that offers
the camp seeking public resources, camp referrals
and guidance about individual camp searches.
- Free camp listings online and in
print. Each camp's information is
posted on the ACA New England Web site in an
online Camp Directory as well as published in
ACA New England's Guide to Summer Camp.
The Guide is a free publication that
is distributed throughout New England to schools,
libraries, colleges, child professionals and
others. Twelve thousand print copies are distributed
annually and the information was accessed online
nearly 50,000 times in the ’04-’05
camp season.
- Airport Information. Each
year, ACA New England facilitates transportation
details for ACA-accredited camps with New England
airports.
- Free job postings on the
ACA New England Web site and in the Communicate.
- Public Awareness initiatives
promoting the value of ACA accreditation and
ACA accredited camps throughout New England.
